Why I Sponsor WordCamp Málaga 2026

#wordpress

I’m generally the kind of person who prefers to do things quietly. Work, build, and not necessarily broadcast it. But for some time now I’ve been running this personal blog where I want to gradually share my ideas and experiences.

And on that path, WordPress is always there. The CMS to which I owe a large part of my professional career and one I’ve been working with daily for over 7 years. This year I’m proud to sponsor WordCamp Málaga 2026, something I already did in 2025 but in a more low-key way.

WordCamp Málaga 2026

What is a WordCamp?

For those unfamiliar, a WordCamp is a community-organized WordPress event where professionals and non-professionals from the digital ecosystem come together. Topics range from development, SEO, marketing, business, ecommerce, web legal compliance, and much more. It’s a meeting point where knowledge is shared openly and in a friendly atmosphere.

This year, at home

The 2026 edition takes place at the Faculty of Commerce and Management of the University of Málaga, and this year the main theme revolves around ecommerce with WordPress. Interestingly, it’s very much aligned with my specialization, although I didn’t study there — I went to the school across the street, the ETSII, as an industrial engineer. However, marketing and international trade have been the guiding pillars of my professional development.

Sponsoring this WordCamp is my way of giving back to a community and a tool that have given me so much.
